Uniforms/Dress Code
The principal, in consultation with the faculty, has the final say about what can be worn to school. All students must wear the uniform as described below. All uniform parts, except P.E. shirts, sweatshirts and sweatpants, may be purchased at Teresa's Bridal Shop. If uniforms are purchased elsewhere, they must follow the guidelines described below.
Girls: Grades K-4
Plaid jumper may be purchased from
Teresa's Bridal
Shop/Big Boy Drywall at 1105 5th Avenue, Yuma 782-0104 or
446-6044 (Julie Centeno).
Jumper must come at least to the top of the knee.
Girls: Grades 5-8
Plaid skirt may be purchased from
Teresa's Bridal

Skirts/Skorts must come at least to the top of
the knee.
All Girls
White button down blouse or white polo shirt with a collar and
short-sleeves. Blouse/polo shirts must be tucked in so that waistband is
visible. The only emblem permitted is the I.C. symbol. Solid white or
navy blue socks must worn and visible.
Cold Weather Wear
Girls: A white button-down blouse with a collar and long sleeves (a
white turtleneck may be worn underneath). Both must be tucked in so that
the waistband is visible. Plain white or navy blue tights may be worn.
Boys: May wear a white turtleneck under a regular shirt.
All: Plain navy blue dress pants (no pull strings, nylon, denim or
stretch material; no cargo or extra pockets on the legs).
Boys: Grades K-8
Plain navy blue dress pants (no pull strings, denim, stretch or nylon
material, no cargo pants). Solid white short sleeve button down shirt or
polo shirt with a collar. The only emblem permitted is the I.C. Symbol.
Shirts must be tucked in so that the waistband and belt are visible at
all times. Solid white or navy blue socks must be worn and visible.
All Students
Solid white or navy blue button down sweater or pullover sweater with
crew or v-neck, no hoods. Crewneck sweatshirts, plain or IC logo, may be
worn on regular PE uniform days. No jacket or any non-uniform school
sweater may be worn in any school building or in the Church. In warm
weather plain navy blue walking shorts may be worn. Shorts may not be of
denim, nylon, or stretch material. Shorts may not be shorter than 2"
above the knees nor be worn below the knee. Capri length pants are not
part of the uniform. T-shirts worn under the uniform must be solid white
with no logos. Faded blue slacks or shorts must be replaced. Uniforms
that are oversized, "baggy," tight fitting, faded, or torn are in
violation of the dress code. All skirts, shorts/skirts, and pants must
be worn at the waist. Shoes must be white or black. No high tops. No
boots. Belts: Uniform black or brown belts must be worn with shorts and
pants. No large buckles. No decorations or holes.
All Students: Uniform for Physical Education Classes
Tennis shoes. No jewelry School T-shirt purchased from the school
office, navy blue walking shorts as described above. Students must bring
a water bottle each day. In cold weather only (November through March),
students may wear navy blue sweatpants and sweatshirts with no designs.
All Students: Mass Uniform
No shorts. Girls wear skirts or jumpers and boys wear long pants.
Only uniform sweaters may be worn in the Church and school buildings.
Free Dress Day
The student may come out of uniform on this day. The student may not
wear anything too tight, oversized, short, revealing or with
inappropriate writing or designs on it. Free dress days apply to
clothing only. The principal has the final decision on whether the
clothes are appropriate for school.
Make-up and Hair Styles
Immaculate Conception School is not the place to make a fashion
statement. No make-up or fingernail polish may be worn. Hair should be
neat, clean and appropriate for school. Boys' hair is to be cut so it is
above the ears, eyebrows, and collar. No spiked hair is allowed no
matter how short. Girls with longer hair must wear it so that it is out
of their face. Hair is to be one natural color.
Jewelry
Girls may wear no more that one earring per ear. They may not extend
below the earlobe, no hoops. Boys are not allowed to wear earrings. No
bracelets. One ring and one necklace with religions symbol may be worn.
